PIMSAT Colleges is now a multi - disciplined institution of higher learning in suburban Dagupan City, where quality education is made affordable, as manifested by the governments' recognition of all its programs, its ISO certification by DNV, and its reputation of offering one of the lowest fees in the region among private institutions.
The College provides all the necessary facilities conducive to learning, secluded from the city nuisances and pollution. These Include Dormitory facilities "International House", where proper values and attitudes are assimilated with the guidance of the College administrator.
The PIMSAT Colleges, Inc., has remarkably entered the global academic community. The Nigerian government through the Nigerian Maritime Safety Administration sent 207 scholars for Maritime Education Program to the College in the latter part of the Calendar Year 2012.
These scholars were housed at the new 500 bed capacity International House built at the back of the Dagupan City campus. Sometime on December 20, 2103, the Ambassador of Nigeria visited the College. He was impressed of the College resources and academic atmosphere. He wanted President Carrera to establish a school branch of the College in Nigeria with his help and government assistance.
The new facility also accommodates other maritime education cadets, mostly scholars of the Magsaysay Institute of Shipping in collaboration with the Development Bank of the Philippines.
After the first fatal of Nigerian scholars left, another batch is coming to enroll in three maritime courses. These batch is coming anytime from now pending the approval of their student visas.
PIMSAT Colleges, Inc. was formerly known as the Philippine Institute for Maritime Studies. It was established as a non-sectarian, non-profit and Non-stock Corporation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on January 15, 1983 in Labrador Pangasinan, initially as a vocational school for maritime courses.
